What Exactly is rPET?

  • Nov 28, 2022

Recycled plastic bottles are finding their way into promotional products.

1.  Recycled polyester (rPET) requires 59% less energy to create.

Polyester made up about 52% of fibers produced globally in 2019. Unfortunately, you need oil to make virgin polyester. When plastic bottles are recycled into fabric, it becomes polyester -- the most used textile fabric in the world.

Backpacks, bags, umbrellas -- even lanyards -- are available in rPET.

2. How does rPET combat microplastic particles found in our environment?

By encouraging recycling, we can help slow the production of virgin synthetic textiles. Demand for recycled polyester from conscious consumers, helps boost the industry around reusing plastics. This circular ecomony helps reduce the global microplastics consumption.

Pens, notebooks, backpacks -- even yoga mats -- are available in rPET.

3. rPET materials emit 79% less CO2 compared to new material.

The fashion industry is responsible for 10% of annual global carbon emissions. Recycled polyester is making brands do a double take.

T-shirts, hoodies, jackets -- even socks -- are available in rPET.

So, when you got to throw away that plastic soda bottle, remember: 30 recycled water bottles create 1lb of rPET fiber!
